Jewish Lipsync
The Institute for New Social Sculpture, as part of the Jewish Art School, offered its first
Drag Masterclass under the direction of performer and opera singer Shlomi Moto
Wagner aka Mazy Mazeltov. Its participants now step dazzlingly into the
spotlight, supported by icons of the Jewish, German-Israeli, and Berlin queer
community such as Anali Goldberg and Doris Belmont:
We celebrate Jewish queer drag! We also address antisemitism within queer-feminist communities—a movement that sees itself as progressive but falls short of its own aspirations and hard-won achievements when it comes to Jews.
What experiences have we had since—but also before—October 7th? How could it have come to this? How did this situation develop? To what extent has anti-Israel sentiment become radicalized and spread? These questions will be discussed by Ana Hoffner ex-
Prvulovic*, Leah Carola Czollek, Mazy Mazeltov, and Tucké Royale, moderated by Matthias
Nebel (Institute for New Social Sculpture).
The event is funded by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMBFSFJ) as part of the federal program
Democracy Live! and with the kind support of the Costume Collective e. V.
