About Berghain, Panorama Bar, Säule Berlin
As the head of the influential label Exit Records, dBridge has revitalized drum and bass with a minimalist aesthetic over the past two decades. For this edition of REEF, he is joined by Alix Perez, whose imprint 1985 Music is considered the epicenter for the evolution of deep, soulful drum and bass and precise half-time sound. His selection is characterized by a keen sense for hypnotic sub-bass and techno-infused, minimalist grooves. At Panorama Bar, the dynamic shifts towards hybrid club formats. Here, the Brussels-based multi-talent Le Motel stands out, performing alongside Nigerian rapper Magugu. Le Motel's productions blend footwork, kuduro, and hip-hop rhythms into a polyrhythmic tapestry, which is further enhanced by Magugu's concise rap in a pidgin dialect, creating a raw, intensely physical live energy. Carré, co-founder of the London label Fast At Work, will also be playing. Their sound breaks up classic house and techno patterns and injects them with the hyperactive energy of UK garage, bleeps and fast, percussive breaks.
