New Year's Eve in Berlin: Welcome 2021
Live bands, DJs, the famous countdown to the turn of the year and the gigantic fireworks will once again attract hundreds of thousands of guests from all over the world to the Brandenburg Gate. There is a lively party atmosphere on the festival mile between the Brandenburg Gate and the Victory Column until the early hours of the morning. Entry is free.
Two kilometer party at the Brandenburg Gate
As every year, the festival mile stretches from the Brandenburg Gate over Strasse des 17. Juni to the Victory Column. Two kilometers of party with many show stages, international stars and show acts, action highlights, laser and light animations, gastronomy from all over the world as well as the world-famous Berlin New Year's Eve fireworks and of course after midnight: the open-end disco in the open air.
Opening times and program for 2020/21
If the event can take place, the gates will open at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2020. In the afternoon and early evening there are usually many music rehearsals by the artists who perform in the evening. The stage program begins at 7 p.m. with various live bands and DJs. At 8:15 p.m. ZDF broadcasts the live program “Willkommen 2021” directly from the New Year's Eve party at the Brandenburg Gate and from 00:30 a.m. the big party with DJ entertainment starts. At 3 a.m. the mile will be closed.
Participating artists and bands 2020/2021
In the course of December, the line-up for the festival mile for this year will be announced. Andrea Kiewel and Johannes B. Kerner traditionally take over the moderation. In 2019, Mando Diao, East 17, Frank Zander, The Rasmus, Hermes House Band, Lotte, Kary Fay, Kerstin Ott, Brenner, Sonia Liebing, Orange Blue, Graham Candy, Howard Jones, Sarah Muldoon, Younotus, Vincent Gross and “The Tina Turner Story” for mood.

Directions and admission controls
For security reasons, personal controls are carried out at the entrances. Fireworks of any kind are strictly prohibited. All pointed and sharp objects, as well as objects that can be used as weapons, may also not be taken into the event area.
